Quick Start

This quick start section is designed to provide a high level understanding of the DOT Trader product.

1. Start the application by double clicking on the "DOT Trader" icon located on the desktop.



2. If using a data feed, Enter the username and password for the DTN IQ data feed and press the "Connect" button.
3. Workspace templates allow the user to quickly open, modify, and save configuration settings.
4. To access the workspace templates, mouse click on the Salventrex Icon located in the top left of the application.
   
   
   1. Click on the "Workspace" menu control.
   2. To load a saved workspace, click on the "Open" menu option. Then select the desired workspace.



5. To open a new window view, single mouse click on the icon located in the Ribbon Bar.
   
   
   1. Financial - Opens a financial chart.
   2. Engineering - Opens an engineering chart.
   3. Market Depth - Opens a Market Depth table.
   4. Web - Opens a new Browser window.
   5. RSS Feed - Opens a new RSS Feed window.


6. To open a new window for a specific symbol, perform the following steps. 
   
   
   1. In the Symbols List, select the desired symbol.
   2. Single mouse click on the icon located in the Ribbon Bar.





7. To open a view for a specific symbol from the Ribbon Bar, perform the following steps.
   
   
   1. Select the desired symbol in the Symbols List.
   2. From the Ribbon Bar, single mouse click on the desired view (such as "Financial" chart icon).

   

8. To open a view for a specific symbol from the Symbols List, perform the following steps.
   
   
   1. Right mouse click on the desired symbol. 
   2. Mouse click on the desired new view menu option.
