Installation

This section describes how to install the DOT Trader application.  Please carefully follow the installation process detailed below.

1. Download and install Microsoft .NET 4.0 update. - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17718
2. Download the latest version of DOT Trader. - http://www.salventrex.com/index-4.html
3. If using a data feed, download DTN IQFeed Client. - http://www.iqfeed.net/index.cfm?displayaction=support&section=download 
   
   
   1. DTN offers a free 7 day trial.
   2. Additional data feeds will be added based on client needs.


4. Double click on the DOTTrader.exe file to begin installation.
5. If the following operating system message box is displayed, press the "Yes" button.



6. The Installation Wizard will extract the files and begin the installation. 
7. This may take a few minutes (approximately 2-3 minutes).



8. The following installation wizard dialog box is displayed which defines the application requirements.
9. Click the "Next" button to continue installing the application requirements. 
10. This may take a several minutes (approximately 10-15 minutes).



11. The following Welcome screen with a copyright warning is presented. 
12. Press the "Next" button if you agree to the copyright law and international treaties.



13. The following License agreement dialog box is displayed.
14. READ THE LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY.
15. The License Agreement can be accessed anytime from the Salventrex web site.  Download EULA.
16. If you agree to the terms of the license agreement, click on the check box "I accept the terms of the license agreement".



17. The following Customer Registration dialog box is displayed.
18. Enter your User Name and Organization information.
19. Click the "Next" button to continue.



20. The following Setup Type dialog box is displayed.
21. Select the "Complete" option.
22. Click the "Next" button to continue.



23. The following Destination Folder dialog box is displayed.
24. Change the installation directory by pressing the "Change" button.
25. Click the "Next" button to continue.



26. The following Select Program Folder dialog box is displayed.
27. Click the "Next" button to continue.



28. The following Installation Wizard dialog box is displayed.
29. Click the "Next" button to continue.



30. The following Microsoft SQL Server Instances dialog box is displayed.
31. Select the drop down Instance Name to be the local computer name (i.e. "WIN_7A") and SQLEXPRESS.
32. Click the "Next" button to continue.



33. The following Success message should be displayed indicating the SQL database is correctly installed.
34. If the SQL database displays an alternative message, change the Instance Name above and press "Next" button.
35. Click the "OK" button to continue.



36. The following Completing Installation dialog box is displayed.
37. Click the "Finish" button to complete the installation.



38. If the following message is displayed, download the Microsoft .NET 4.0 update. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17718
