Data Binding

The Data Binding is used to define the data source (either Times & Sales or Level 2 data) and the data type (such as price, volume, message count) that will be displayed in the Engineering Chart.

  1. To edit the data binding for a data series, select a data series which is located under the TimeSales or L2 data source on left side of the data set designer.
  2. The Properties control and Binding Paths Y is updated to displayed the selected data series.
  3. To change the x-axis data type, mouse click on the Binding Path X drop down menu and select the desired data type.
  4. Only one data type can be defined for the x-axis for each data series.
  5. To apply the changes, mouse click on the data source which is located on left side of the data set designer.
  6. To edit the data binding for a data series, select a data series which is located under the TimeSales or L2 data source on left side of the data set designer.
  7. To change the y-axis data type(s), mouse click on the Binding Path Y check box for the desired data type(s).
  8. Multiple data types can be defined for the y-axis for each data series.  The order of the data types also defines the data series.

    1. Example: The Bubble chart requires two data types to be selected.  The first data type defines the vertical location on a scatter plot and the second data type defines the size of the bubble.
    2. Example: The High, Low, Open, Close chart requires four data types to be selected.
    3. Example: The High, Low chart requires two data types to be selected.

  9. To apply the changes, mouse click on the data source which is located on left side of the data set designer.
